The placement question that'll make or break this for you

Solar cameras live and die by sun exposure. If your mounting spots are shaded by trees, a deep overhang, or face north, you'll fight a battery that never fully charges — especially in winter. Tapo's solar panels are small by design, so they need a solid four to six hours of direct light to keep up with active motion detection. Beyond that, 1080p is fine for identifying people but won't give you license-plate reads at distance. If your use case is basic perimeter awareness and your sightlines get real sun, this bundle is genuinely competitive. If shade is a factor, a wired cam will serve you better.
