What you're actually getting with the Neo
The Stream Deck Neo is Elgato's stripped-down take on their classic button deck. You get eight customizable LCD keys arranged in a compact 4x2 grid, plus two touch points along the bottom for flipping between pages. It's aimed squarely at streamers and content creators who want scene switching, mute toggles, and app shortcuts without a lot of desk real estate. The white colorway is a nice touch if your setup runs light — it doesn't look out of place next to a white keyboard or monitor. Setup through the Elgato software is genuinely painless, even for first-timers.
The honest trade-off before you buy
Eight keys sounds like enough until you start building out profiles — streamers with more complex setups will likely outgrow it faster than they expect. The Neo also drops the dial and touch strip you get on the Stream Deck+, so it's purely button-based. At $69.99 it sits in a reasonable spot: meaningfully cheaper than the 15-key MK.2, but with real limitations. If you're a hobbyist streamer, podcaster, or someone who just wants to automate a handful of daily PC tasks, this deal makes sense. If you're running a more involved production, budget up.
