Two long films that actually hold up on a good screen
The Dune saga — Part One from 2021 and Part Two from 2024 — is one of the better arguments for owning physical 4K media rather than relying on a streaming library that shifts titles around. Villeneuve shot these films with IMAX cameras and a real eye for scale, which means the sandworm sequences and desert vistas genuinely benefit from the extra resolution and HDR headroom that a 4K disc delivers over a compressed stream. If you have a capable TV and player, this is the kind of content that shows off both.
The setup requirement you shouldn't overlook
Worth being straight about: 4K Ultra HD discs require a 4K Blu-ray player specifically — a standard Blu-ray player won't read them. If you're already set up for it, roughly $12 per film for a definitive physical copy is fair value, especially since streaming rights for these move between platforms. If you're not already in the 4K disc ecosystem, factor in the player cost before deciding this is a deal. For collectors or home theater regulars, it's a reasonable buy. For casual viewers, the streaming version is probably fine.
