The catch: this only works if you're all-in on Apple

AirTags are genuinely useful — but only for iPhone users. If anyone in your household uses Android, they can't track shared items through Find My, and there's no cross-platform support. They're also passive trackers, not GPS; location updates depend on other Apple devices being nearby, which works well in cities but can be spotty in rural areas.
